ANIKKA´S FOREST
-ILLUSTRATED BOOK-
I created this illustrated story on 2018, to present it at the anual competitive funds given by the MEC (Ministry of Education and Culture of Uruguay).

ANIKKA´S FOREST
Anikka loves every flower, even the ones that are inside the forbidden forest, on the head of a monstrous and colossal creature.
Anikka was never good at following the rules. Although her parents warned her about the cursed forest, she couldn't help but get closer to smell the flowers.
Anikka is stubborn, and despite all the warnings she went deeper into the forest.
A colossal skull rests in the dark. "Is that the monster that cursed the forest?" Anikka thinks. "But... what a beautiful flower it has on its head".
The monster seems asleep. And its flower seems to be crying. "It will be dead soon!" Anikka thinks "This is not an evil monster, it is a neglected creature".
Anikka gathers her best gardening tools, and sets to work to make the creature beautiful again. While watering, pruning and planting, she thinks "There is a lot of garbage from my city stuck in this bushes".
The monster wakes up happy, because its back bloomed again. And who would have thought? The forest is reborn with every step the creature takes. A certain question continues in Anikka's mind "Who is really responsible for the forest withering?"
THE MAKING PROCESS
-MODLE SHEETS-
Before illustrating the story, I made quick model sheets of my characters. This way, I could picture them better from every side and get to know them a little bit more.
This is something I like to do before starting any project that involves drawing a character more than once: short film, illustrated book, videogame, comic, etc.
-EARLY CONCEPTS-
This are the first concepts of mi story. Where I tried to sum up the general idea of the book in one image alone.
